Burr E. Stockton - Private |
Burr Stockton was born abt. 1830 and died March 22, 1900.
He is buried at Medford Baptist Cemetery in Medford, NJ. During his lifetime, he lived in Medford, Shamong, Northampton, and Chester, Burlington County NJ.
He mustered in for service in the Civil War September 1862 and mustered out June 1863 at Beverly NJ.
I always knew he was a Civil War soldier, found out recently that he was a proud Yahoo and honorary member of the Sunday School Army of Burlington County.
Read the book: 'Journey to Honor' by James Buck for a good account of the daily life and activities of the 23rd NJ Vol. Infantry.
